Products To Care For Dry & Dehydrated Skin

Hello everyone, I hope you’re all doing well – I hope you’re not mad at me for being quiet on the blog for the last little while. I’ve been so busy and I have so much to share with you all! Today I want to share some of my favourite skin care products for dry skin, because as I’m getting older my skin is changing and my oily skin days are long gone! Now I’ll do anything for a hydration boost, and I’m definitely addicted to facial oils haha..

I’ve never been big into toners, but as my skin has been getting drier – I’ve had to step up my skin care game. I’ve got a few toners on rotation but my current favs are the Origins Make a Difference +, this is super gentle and lets everything used after sink in really well. It also smells great – which I could never be mad about! I’ve also been loving the Alpha-H Liquid Rose Gold – the more gentle version of the coveted Liquid Gold. This is much better for me, as my skin can be quite sensitive, manual exfoliants can cause me havoc so a chemical option is sometimes easier (and much less messier). This is the perfect amount of exfoliation my skin needs to remove any dead skin cells without it feeling like I’ve used paint stripper on my face. As you fellow dry skinned ladies will know, having dry skin and cleansing/removing makeup can be a bit of a struggle! My two most used and loved are the Tropika Skin Coconut Cleansing Oil and the classic Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish. Do I even need to talk about C&P? Everyone knows the drill and everyone knows its gentle and hits the spot. The Tropika offering is oil based so there’s little risk of it drying my face out, its great for removing makeup and always leaves my face feeling soft and clean without feeling like I’ve removed Half the water content of my body. Serums play a big part in making sure my face retains as much moisture as possible, and as of late I’ve been mixing between my Pixi Hydrating Milky Serum and The Ordinary Plant Based Squalene. Pixi are by far my favourite skin care brand and this serum doesn’t disappoint, its milky (as the name suggests) and it just makes my skin plump. The Ordinary offering is much oilier in texture and I definitely can’t use it everyday, but for those couple nights a week – it wakes up my skin and gives it a little extra boost. I think I’m addicted to facial oils, as part of my skincare routine and also added into my foundation when i need an extra glow boost. My favourite oil of the moment is the Dr Botanicals Moroccan Rose, its lightweight and sinks into the skin, gives me a glow and keeps my face from feeling like a saharan desert. Also need to give a shoutout to the Huxley Secret of Sahara, as a moisturiser I couldn’t ask for anything else, its full of goodies and leaves a hydrating layer on my skin and doesn’t disappear within 5 seconds of it being applied – making me feel like its actually being more beneficial! I only tend to wear eye cream at night, and its always the Oskia Citylife balm, its very oily in texture and seriously minimises and fine lines and keeps my eyes in prime condition for makeup the next morning. Expensive, but worth it. Would my skin care routine be complete without the Pixi Hydrating Milky Mist? I think not. An easy way to coat your face in hyaluronic acid that’s refreshing and quick at the same time, win-win. Lastly some makeup mentions that stop my face from looking crusty – The Ordinary Serum Foundation (medium coverage with a nice glow), Urban Decay One and Done (light coverage with a more matte finish) and the Pixi Makeup Fixing Mist to disguise any excess power I might have been heavy handed with!
