August Beauty Favourites 2018

This year has flown by, seriously! And I’ve definitely not done enough beauty favourites posts to keep you all up to date with what I’m loving all the time. I’m going to try and do these every other month, as I’m only posting once a week here on the blog just now. I’ve got quite a few things I want to talk about, some of which will be no surprise and some that I definitely haven’t spoken about enough!

Firstly, I have to mention the Anastasia Modern Renaissance Palette – probably not a surprise for anyone but its definitely been pretty much the only palette to touch my eyelids as of late. The eyeshadows in this palette have the best formula I’ve tried to date and the shade range is just to die for! I won’t go on and on about it though. For my base I’ve been using the Urban Decay One & Done pretty much daily, as it is light coverage but really evens out my complexion. I’ve also been using a lot of The Ordinary Serum Foundation which is a nice lightweight foundation with medium coverage and a super blend-able formula. Other makeup bits I’ve been loving is the Iconic London Illuminator, as its the most blinding highlight I’ve ever used and the Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade. I’ve always been a fan of this pomade but theres something about it over my other brow pomades that just works and stays in place all day. As I’m pretty pale, I’m partial to a little fake tan here and there throughout the summer, and my favourite product as of late has been the Solait Dry Oil. If you already have a good amount of colour, this probably won’t do a lot for you but for someone fair like me it adds just a subtle bit of colour to stop me looking ghostly in the summer months. It blends really easily, and it has a colour guide and it leaves my skin feeling nice and soft and not smelling awful (like a lot of fake tans). Skincare wise, I’ve been trying to step up my anti-aging game. I’m only 22 but I still believe that prevention is better than cure when it comes to preserving my youth. I’ve been making sure to use my Alpha-H Liquid Rose Gold a couple of times a week to exfoliate and reveal a brighter complexion. This stuff tingles quite a bit but by morning my skin is soft, smooth and brighter than it was the day before. I’ve also been obsessed with my Oskia City i-Life Balm for my night time eye cream. This stuff has a very oily consistency and it leaves a thick layer on the skin, but I’ve never used something this intense before. This really has made a difference to my eye area, not only are my under eyes a lot more hydrated but the appearance of my tiny fine lines looks a lot more blurred than before. This stuff is a little pricey for me, but a little goes a really long way and I believe its totally worth the price tag. I’ve also been rating the Dr Botanicals Superfood Rose Facial Oil too, I don’t use this every night but its nice to add into my skincare a few times a week as it seriously moisturises my skin and gets rid of any dry patches I might have lingering! For nails, I’ve rediscovered my love for the Burts Bees Cuticle Butter, it smells like lemons and really keeps my cuticles and nails hydrated. Its a thick consistency that doesn’t absorb super fast so it lingers on the skin and gives a nice deep moisturise to the area. I’ve also been wearing a lot of the Barry M Acai Smoothie Gelly Nail Paint, as its the perfect muted pink. I love this colour as it pretty much goes with anything and looks super girly.
