Hello all, another week – another post! This week I wanted to talk about the importance of looking through your makeup collection regularly. As a blogger, I probably have a bigger collection of makeup than most and the importance of checking how long you’ve had things for is super important. Makeup actually has an expiry date, and can even go off! So be careful ladies and make sure to think about how long you’ve had that old glittery lipgloss at the bottom of your drawer for!
I don’t want to bore you all by listing every single item I’m throwing away but I will talk about why I’m doing this. You might have read this post about me parting with a lot of my Mac makeup – I don’t think its healthy to hoard things or hold onto things that won’t get used. And for most of this stuff, its the exact same idea. I don’t remember the last time I used my Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette or the last time I it even crossed my mind to even consider the Naked Smoky Palette. It’s not that they’re bad products at all, some of these have been well loved and used – they’re just things I don’t reach for anymore, or they’re products that I’ve had for way longer than I should have. You’ll see here some cream eyeshadows and things, products that were great at the time, but now they’re probably past their best before and are probably harbouring a lot of bacteria. I don’t want to be using something on my face that could make me ill – especially not in the name of vanity! Theres a couple of Inglot palettes here, which I used to love – but I picked some strange colours and honestly I never use these. The eyeshadow pans are massive and I know theres plenty product left in these so I’m sure someone can get better use of them. Theres also the Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Palette, which I know was limited edition but I never reach for it. I have similar colours in other palettes that I use more and the bright shades have never been touched, so I don’t see the point of letting these gather dust.
Have you thrown away any makeup recently?
