Lagos, Portugal

Hello, a slightly different post today! something non beauty related (which makes a change). Recently me and Fraser took a trip to Lagos in Portugal, and I thought I’d share my snaps and some tips of places to go!

Firstly, theres no denying the beauty of the Algarve. The beaches are beautiful and the sea is a beautiful blue colour that honestly looks so surreal. We stayed in an apartment named Dom Pedro during our stay, which was only rated 3 stars but honestly – it was great. We had a balcony over looking the beach and a tiny kitchen for if we needed to cook anything (which was super handy). We went to the local super market and picked up a bunch of fruit, which is really much better than anything we get over here in the UK! Everything had so much flavour. Our apartment was about a 40 minute walk from the Marina – which is the heart of Lagos and where all the good shops and restaurants are located. The walk was lovely though, and the weather when we were there was sunny but had a nice breeze so it was perfect for walking around in without melting. We found a lot of great restaurants in the Old Town of Lagos (which is very nearby the Marina). Our favourite was definitely a small mexican named Beats and Burritos, which honestly was amazing. We actually ended up going twice during our stay for the week! They had great vegan options and offered cocktails and sangria too! We also decided to take a boat trip from the Marina around the coast, which was amazing as we were able to see all the beautiful caves and the cliffs on the coast line. It really is a very beautiful part of the world. Surprisingly, we actually didn’t do a lot of sunbathing and spent most of our time exploring the city to find exciting new places to go. We also watched a lot of Love Island when we were away (mostly when we were in bed for the night and it was too warm to sleep)! The entire place was lovely and I really wished we could’ve stayed a longer than we had as everything was so pretty, from the buildings to the caves and the sea water – it was all so dreamy! I definitely recommend putting it on your list of places to go on holiday! Its a lovely place and we couldn’t have had a better time. Hopefully you’ve been inspired by these photos!

Have you been on holiday anywhere lately?
