August Beauty Favourites

I’m not sure how its September already but somehow this year has literally disappeared into thin air, either that or I’m just getting old and need to accept that time passes quickly now. I’ve got a bunch of favourites I’ve been reaching for a lot over the last little while so I thought no better time than the present to share!

Starting with skincare, the Pixi Hydrating Milky Mist has made a comeback in my life. I spray this after cleansing and toning and I swear all my other skincare just works a whole lot better when I use it. Its got hyaluronic acid so it helps the skin absorb moisture better and it comes in a handy spray, whats not to love. For actual cleansing, I’ve been back on the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish bandwagon for a while now. This is a cult favourite, and for good reason. Its very creamy and a little massaged into wet skin just makes it feel all clean, nourished and refreshed. It never feels harsh or stripping but it always manages to remove any last traces of dirt and makeup that I might have missed in my first cleanse. Body wise, I’ve been loving the & Other Stories Perle de Coco Body Scrub, because it smells like a dream and buffs my skin back to a smooth finish without any bits of dry skin flaking around. I cant get enough of this stuff at the moment! For makeup I’ve been having an on and off relationship with The Ordinary Coverage foundation, I love this stuff but some days my skin is too dry for it and other days it seems to bunch up on my face and melt off after a few hours and there genuinely seems to be no rhyme or reason to it. I’ve been working with it and as long as I lightly moisturise my skin, apply a good primer and then mix this with a bit of moisturiser I seem to be good to go. That might seem like a lot of work but something about this just makes my skin look really flawless but natural at the same time. For Bronzer I’ve been rating the Liz Earle Skin Tint Bronzing Fluid because it just melts into my face and leaves me with the most beautiful glowy, bronzed skin look with minimal effort. Even through the summer is coming to an end, I think I’m still going to keep using this though the winter to warm up my pasty white complexion. I’ve also been obsessed with the Becca Backlight Priming Filter, because even though I need to layer another primer over the top if I want to make my makeup last longer, this gives the most beautiful glow I think I could ever achieve on my face. Even with foundation on top, it shines through and makes me look amazing (if I do say so myself). I’ve been in love with the Seventeen Skin Wow Concealer, as it has a really peachy undertone that makes my under eyes look like I did actually get enough sleep rather than me looking like something from the walking dead. It doesn’t crease on me and it blends in really easily, the coverage is pretty decent too making it a game changer in my concealer world. I’ve also been a fan of the Soul Tree Kajal in Copper Tint* because it just looks so pretty along my top lash line when I don’t want to wear black. It lasts all day and the bronze colour helps my blue eyes stand out. On my lips, Mac’s Brave has been making quite the appearance, especially on work days. Its a pretty brown-nude colour that goes with 99% of the looks I wear and I absolutely adore it.
