Top 5 For Glowy Skin!

Summer is getting ever so close, so I thought it would be an appropriate time to start mentioning some bits to achieve that glowy complexion. Please bear in mind that I have quite oily skin so I like to have my glow in specific places rather than all over. Some products do work well with my skin though and don't leave me looking like a greasy mess..

I thought I'd start by mentioning the primer I always reach for if I'm in need of a good glow. Its an oldie but a goodie, but the Clarins Beauty Flash Balm always gives my skin the radiance I desire. It literally does what it says on the skin, tightens and brightens, which results in a natural looking glow for underneath makeup! I also really like the smell of this.. Admittedly it doesn't do masses for keeping oils at bay but when I'm going for a glowy look I always need to powder in strategic places! Next comes in MAC Strobe Cream, great for mixing with foundation or to use as a cream highlight over makeup. Sometimes I do use this as a primer but I think its a little to glowy to use on my oily skin so I find it works best when I mix it with my foundation! The Topshop All Over Glow is a similar product but its much more watery in texture, for me I can use this under or over my makeup and it doesn't interfere with skin. It has a beautiful iridescence to it that I can't really describe, plus its quite affordable so thats always a bonus! I also love the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfectors and the 17 Skin Wow Primer (Not Pictured), they pretty much so the same job as MAC Strobe Cream!

In terms of adding a highlight over my foundation, I have a massive love for MAC's Cream Colour Base in Pearl. Its just absolutely gorgeous. If you want to look glowy, then this is what you need. Its cream formula is super easy to blend and it pretty much gives the skin that wet look without looking unnatural. Lastly for powder highlight, if I'm having a super oily day and cream products aren't an option then I'll reach for something like MAC Lightscapade MSF, which is really stunning. It doesn't have any glitters in it what so ever so it just leaves the skin looking really dewy and fresh.

Lip Picks For Spring!

Hey guys! Sorry this post is a little late, bit of drama with O2 having no signal where I live so I couldn't revive my google code to log in to blogger! However, the signal situation has been resolved and I'm back to share another post with you all! I thought I'd share my favourite lip products right now, and they're definitely all great for spring. I say spring.. but as I look out my window, all I see is rain.. sigh.

Firstly I have to mention MAC 'Peach Blossom', its probably one of my most worn lipsticks ever. Its like a peachy nude that isn't super pale, so it doesn't wash me out or totally blank out my lips. Its super creamy on the lips and the peachy tones make it great to wear this season! The Maybelline Baby Lips in 'Pink Punch' is also a great one to throw on in a hurry, the light moisturising texture makes this a great everyday colour and it packs more pigment than you might think. I personally love the colour, I think its the perfect thing to brighten up any dull spring day. Clinique's Lip Pop Lipstick in 'Melon Pop' is also an amazing shade, its a bright orangey coral which I think would look perfect with a tan! Its a great one on my pale skin too and I think it'll be a great lipstick to get through the spring and summer. Next I have to mention the Gosh Lip Shine in 'Funky Friday' its quite a bright one but I love to apply a little of this and then add some lip balm to sheer it out slightly, it gives that tint to your lips that looks like you've just eaten an ice lolly! Its also amazing on its own if you want something a little bolder. Last but not least is the YSL Rouge Volupte Shine in the shade 13, its the most perfect peachy colour with a nice coral undertone, and personally, I love coral at this time of year! These are my favourites, but please do let me know what yours are!

MAC Prep + Prime Transparent Finishing Powder!

Oily girls, get your wallets ready! This powder has changed my makeup game and makes a serious difference to how long my makeup lasts. Its a total new favourite of mine, and I think you all might love it too.

I came across this when I was looking to replace my Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder, which I love but I feel like the jar is a little pricey for the amount of product. I pretty much need to set my under eye concealer or it ends up at my jaw by the end of the day as well as creasing like theres no tomorrow. This happens regardless of what concealer I use so I know its not a problem with that. I was reading a lot of review of different powders and was pretty torn about what to go for. I love MAC, I'm a total MAC junkie and I know their products usually perform so I thought this would be a safe choice. Although initial purchase was for setting my under eyes, I use this to set my entire face if I know I'm going to have a long day. Its the only powder I've used that actually keeps my makeup on my face and control oils. Admittedly I'm a little shiny by the end of the day, but nothing a quick touch  up can't cure. Sometimes my makeup is beyond saving by the end of the day but when I'm wearing this it keeps things looking fresh for an exceptionally long time. It also sets under eye concealer really well too, its completely transparent and super finely milled so it doesn't emphasise any fine lines or make my makeup look cakey! I'm super impressed with this powder, I recommend to all.

Makeup Revolution Flawless Eyeshadow Palette!

Makeup Revolution kind of appeared out of no where right? Right now they seem to be all over Instagram and in the blogging community. I thought it was only right to see what all the fuss was about and try out some products for myself. This palette in particular really stood out to me.

The palette contains 32 eyeshadows, which in my opinion is a total bargain. The quality for the price is also really impressive too, at £8 I really don't have any complaints. The eyeshadows are very buttery, they all have great payoff too which is really great. Usually with more budget friendly eyeshadows, the mattes tend to suffer in quality but they're actually very good to work with. The mattes can be a little dusty when you dip your brush into them but other than that, they perform brilliantly. As for the shimmers, one or two are a little chunky but as a whole theres not a complaint I can make. The shade range in this palette is also really amazing too, there are loads of colours for everyday looks and plenty if you want to do something darker or a little more dramatic. I would recommend a primer under these shadows to make them a little more long lasting but they hold up pretty well on their own. Its a great little palette, amazing for travelling with and I can't wait to make more purchases from Makeup Revolution.

Benefit Roller Lash Mascara!

Hey everyone! I'm super excited about todays post as this mascara has literally changed my life! That sounds really dramatic but its a really good mascara, and initially I didn't think I'd like it.

For me this mascara does it all, not only is it lengthening, it adds great volume too. Its funny because I absolutely hate Benefit They're Real, I find it way to clumpy and I end up with spider lashes. I was a little sceptical, as everyone loves They're Real and this mascara has been getting a lot of praise too. I thought it would be a similar offering but its completely different. The brush is one of the plastic style - which I personally don't mind - that really grips onto the lashes and coats every one. I really love it and think its one of the best mascaras I've ever tried!

Benefit Roller Lash - Available here.

Have you tried any Benefit mascaras?

Concealer 101!

Hello my lovelies! Today I thought I'd talk to you about some of my favourite concealers and what I use the different types for! Sometimes it can be a little daunting to choose if you don't know where to start so hopefully this helps some of you out!

Firstly, shoutout to my dark circles! They're the main reason I use concealer, other than that I use concealer to cover any pesky pimples that show face at that time (we all know what I'm talking about here) and to highlight my face if I'm doing a more dramatic makeup look. For under my eyes I like to start with some kind of corrector, this is generally something that has a more peachy undertone in it to cancel out any blue or purple under the eyes. My 2 favourites are actually both from Bobbi Brown. The Tinted Eye Brightener is great because it has a really blendable texture, it doesn't give a massive amount of coverage but just enough to cancel out any darkness before concealer. I also like the Corrector - the one in the wee pot - its really good if I haven't got enough sleep. It has a thick, waxy texture thats great for the inner corner of the eyes. I don't like it under my whole eye area as I do find it tends to crease. For highlighting MAC's Prep + Prime in Radiant Rose is what I'm all about! I'm pretty pale so finding something lighter than my skin tone is near impossible but this is absolutely perfect. They do it in other shades too if you're not quite as pasty, but I just find it blends into the skin really well and looks really natural. I love the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer, it has a really lightweight feeling any never looks cakey on my face. I just wish they made it one shade lighter as during the colder months its just a little too dark. However, I love using to cover spots as it doesn't emphasise any dry patches I may have. Lastly, MAC Pro Longwear. The concealer of all concealers in my opinion! It covers everything without ever looking heavy and theres not an area of my face that I don't find it good for. From Under eyes to covering blemishes - its got you covered!

What are your favourite concealers? I'm thinking about trying the NARS one everyone raves about!

MAC Viva Glam Miley Cyrus Lipstick!

Nothing beats having a relaxing Saturday afternoon, just chilling and writing the blog! Its actually my brother birthday as well today! He's 11 so happy birthday to the coolest little bro ever haha! Anyways, today I'm talking about my possible favourite thing in the world: lipstick. In particular, MAC lipsticks. Let me tell you more..

If you don't know a huge amount about MAC then you might not have heard about Viva Glam. Viva Glam is pretty much where MAC make their contribution to charity, they give 100% of the profits from their Viva Glam lipsticks to the Aids Fund, a great cause. Which means you feel a lot less guilty about buying another lippy when you know your doing a little good for the world! The lipstick itself if beautiful, I didn't need any persuasion after I had swatched it. Its a gorgeous hot pink that has a kind of red undertone. Its seriously bright, definitely a statement lipstick! Its also an amplified finish meaning its super pigmented as well as being quite creamy. I personally love MAC lipsticks, especially the amplified finish so this one is a definite winner for me! If you want to see if on my lips, check out this post here. I know I'm going to be wearing this all summer long! The only not-so-win factor is that it tends to stain my lips if I've been wearing it all day, nothing I can't handle though!

Top 5 Eye Palettes!

Today is a pretty gloomy day, I'm not feeling top notch and I've been trying to work out how to use Final Cut to edit a new video for you guys and its not going to plan. So I decided to wap out my favourite eye palettes to add some brightness back into my life! I'm all about neutral eyes, I don't wear a huge amount of colour very often but a few of my choices here give you a little room to experiment without getting too scary.

Firstly, I have to mention the Urban Decay Naked Palette, the original and the best in my opinion! It has 12 perfectly warm toned neutrals with 2 matte shades in there which are perfect for the crease. I literally grab this when I have no idea what kind of look I want to go for as the combination of colours in the palette make it full proof to use. Next up is my trusty MAC palette, this is actually one of their pre made ones called Cool Neutral. It has 15 neutral shades all of which are cool in shade with some great options in terms of darker colours if you want a more intense look too. I also really like the plum shades in this palette as well! On the more affordable scale, the Makeup Revolution Flawless Palette has a small place in my heart! Its £8 and the quality of the shadows is ridiculously good for the money! It also has an amazing variety of colours, for pretty much any look. The Soap & Glory Lid Stuff quad in Whats Nude is also a favourite of mine, its compact and the 4 shades are perfect for creating an every day look - this finds itself in my makeup bag a lot! Last but not least the Too Faced Chocolate bar palette gets reached for very frequently, not only does it smell like chocolate but the shade selection is absolutely on point. The quality of these eye shadows is also amazing too.

These are my favourites! What are yours?

Clinique 'Robust Rhubarb' Chubby Cheeks Blush!

Hey everyone, I hope you're all doing well on this fine spring evening! Today I thought I'd share a cheeky spring fav with you all, as I've literally been reaching for this non stop! I was never really into cream blushes but this one is a serious game changer.

What I love most is how convenient this is to apply, the twist up stick makes popping this in the cheeks a breeze. I simply do a little swipe and blend it out with my fingers which leaves a gorgeous natural glow. Due to it being a cream-to-powder formula I find it doesn't look too dewy or too matte on the skin, it's the perfect satin finish on the face. The colour Robust Rhubard is also super pretty, a stunning peachy colour that's become a staple in my daily routine. Just a little product and some very effortless blending and I'm ready to go! This one is an all round winner for me, especially coming into these warmer months!

Have you tried these blushes?
