Clinique Face Superprimer for Dullness!

I'm going to admit, I'm a bit of a primer maniac and I love trying out new ones! I'm a bit fan of clinique and when they released new primers I had to get my hands one one!

I chose to go for the dullness correcting primer as I feel that because I'm pale, sometimes my face can look a little flat and like its lacking something. I'm all for adding some glow back into my skin and so I chose this primer on this basis. This primer is really nice to apply, I think its silicone based (from what it feels like) and it does a nice job of filling in any large pores and smoothing out my skin before I apply my foundation!

When I use this I don't notice any great improvement in the dullness of my skin but it definitely is a great base to use before foundation. On its own without any foundation I don't feel my skin looks any different but after foundation my skin definitely looks brighter and more awake. It makes my foundation glide on a lot easier too and stops it from settling into any pores and lines. I also find that my foundation last a lot longer too, it manages to keep it in place almost all day, with me only needing to powder a few times to keep my skin matte. I definitely recommend trying out these primers as Clinique have released a whole range of them for all different types of skin!

Nuxe Reve de Miel Lip Balm!

Ohhhhh my goodness! I am so excited to write about this! I don't think I've ever fallen in love with a beauty product so much!

I purchased the Nuxe Reve de Miel lip balm on a day where I was just browsing and had forgotten to take a lip balm out with me. I'd heard about this loads already but thought for the price it probably wasn't going to be worth it. How I was so wrong! This is hands down the best lip balm I have ever used!

It has a different texture from most other balms I've used, it doesn't have a greasy or waxy texture. I feels almost mousse-ish! Despite the strange feeling it seems to be super nourishing. I put a little of this on before bed every night and I wake up every morning with the softest lips ever! It manages to take care of chapped and dry lips in an instant, soothing them almost immediately and repairing them within a day or two. I've never fallen so hard for a product before, but a combination of this balms texture and repairing capabilities mean I'll be repurchasing this forever as I don't think anything will ever come close! It also has a nice scent, not too strong but its slightly sweet with hints of honey which I absolutely love! The dainty glass jar is so adorable and makes it feel oh so much more luxurious and worth every penny!

If you suffer from dry or chapped lips, especially at this time of year when it starts to get colder I highly, highly recommend this!

Bourjois Java Rice Loose Powder!

I'm talking about a product today that some of you might not have heard about before! I certainly hadn't! To celebrate their recent anniversary Bourjois released a product which I thought was entirely new, but in actual fact it was one of the first products they ever released and what made their brand so popular! Let me explain the Java Rice Powder!

This is a beautiful loose powder that has a subtle pink undertone and contains some very subtle shimmer. Not the glittery or sparkley kind, a sort of diffused kind that brings a really nice sense of light to the face. You can use this as all over powder if you want to but personally I find it a bit too much for that - my skin is already quite oily so I don't need any more shine! I do love to use this as an everyday highlighter though, it's so pretty and finely milled and when you apply it, it doesn't appear as if you look much different, but when the light catches this powder it lights up the face and gives it a very pretty glow that I absolutely love! My only squabble with this is that I wish  it was pressed rather that loose and it can be a little messy, but for such a beautiful powder I can hardly complain!

Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in 'Turn On' !

For all the lipstick addicts out there like me I highly suggest you get down to your local Urban Decay Counter and give these beautiful lipsticks a swatch!

When I first heard about the new release of lipsticks from Urban Decay I can't say I thought much about it. It wasn't until I was standing at the counter and saw not only the beautiful colours, but the brilliant creamy texture too!

The swatch above is from one swipe of the lipstick, so hopefully that gives you an insight into how creamy and pigmented these lipsticks are! The specific colour I chose to pick up - after almost an hour of oo-ing and ah-ing over the shades - is Turn On, a beautiful slightly mauve pink that gives the lips a plum and slightly berry colour. Its an absolutely gorgeous shade and I think it makes a good everyday colour for the Autumn/Winter months. I'm so desperate to pick up more of these though as they're all so wonderful and the texture is like something from my dreams. Usually when I wear lipstick, no matter what the texture is, I almost always end up with dry lips at the end of the day. When I wear this I have absolutely no problems! I could wear this everyday for a week and I still don't think I'd see the slight look of drying appear on my lips! I can't praise Urban Decay enough as I think they did an amazing job in terms of the texture! I also really enjoy the finish of this lipstick, its creamy but not too shiny it seems to look lovely and glossy on the lips without feeling a slippery and smudgy. I wears off so beautifully and I honestly can't fault it. I can't wait to pick up more!

Have you tried and of the Urban Decay Lipsticks?

Hydraluron Moisture Booster!

With the cooler months creeping up my skin has been feeling its full effects. My skin is mostly combination, a little oily in the T-Zone and mostly a little dry elsewhere. Lately however, its been a little dry everywhere which I can't say I'm a massive fan of. I decided to pick this up after hearing Caroline Hirons rave so much about it and I'm so glad I did.

Hydraluron is basically a serum that you apply before your moisturiser and it helps it sink into your skin better and overall it increases the moisture levels in your skin, leaving you with softer and more supple skin. It has some fancy ingredients including hyaluronic acid which can hold however many times it weight in water.. I'm not down with the science entirely!

I've been using this about twice a week with my usual moisturiser at nighttime and I feel that already my skin is much softer and hydrated even after just a month or so of using it. When I wake up in the morning my skin feels incredibly smooth, its almost dreamy! I think this would be especially good for people with dry skin and its definitely become a must have for me. I look forward to the days when I'm going to be using it and I know that my skin is loving it just as much as I am! I really want to try and describe this better but Caroline does it so good I feel I can't compete! Heres a link to her review!

I hope you guys enjoyed reading about this and let me know if you've tried it!

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge!

I'm finally back with a proper post and let me tell you! Its something I think you'll all want to try.
I've always wanted a Beauty Blender, but the price tag that comes with it makes it a big no no for me! I've always just said 'its just a sponge' but after trying this little bad boy I'm keen to try out some more sponges!

I'm not entirely sure if I use this sponge entirely correctly but I like to run it under water and then rinse it out as best as a can before using it. When I do this it increases in size a little and it becomes much softer and I find it blends out my makeup much better. I don't know if it was intended to be used wet as instructions for this little orange sponge seem to be sparse.

From watching Sam's video on her Real Techniques YouTube channel she uses the flat side of the sponge to apply her foundation and she kind of sweeps the sponge over her face to blend it in. However, I find that I much prefer to use the fat rounded side of the sponge for foundation and I kind of stipple it over my face to blend. I find it much easier to get a flawless finish this way and its a lot better for building up coverage in the places I need it. I also love the pointed end for applying my concealer! I've been using it everyday, even when I haven't been using the sponge for the rest of my face! It manages to blend my concealer so beautifully that I just can't get enough of it!

I really love this sponge and it makes a nice change to using a brush to apply my makeup, I'm personally not a fan of using this for cream blush or powder but I love it so much for both foundation and concealer! It's so soft and bouncy and the bright orange colour looks great sitting on my desk! Have you tried this yet?

A Little Blog Update!

If you haven't noticed already I haven't been posting to my blog schedule lately, partly because I've been so busy with work and college that I just haven't found the time. Over the past week or so I decided to take a short break from writing just to get back on track! I find I hardly get time to myself these days meaning I don't get a lot of time to write about the things I love. I have missed blogging and plan to get back on track as soon as I can! Once the college work dies down a little and I cut down my hours at work I should have more than enough time to post frequently again!

If you want to keep up to date with what I'm up to then I suggest following me on the likes of twitter (@claresloves) or instagram (@claresloves) as I'm always posting pictures of beauty products I pick up and so on!

I really do miss blogging! I'm going to get back on it and I promise you it'll be worth the wait! I miss all my readers and getting the time to read blogs myself! I hope you guys understand my absence and I'll see you all soon!
